Video: Mystery creature photographed in Honolulu

A Hawaiian man sparked something of a guessing game after snapping a pair of puzzling pictures of a mysterious creature lurking on a hill. According to a local media report, Donovan Luis took the peculiar photos earlier this month while on the campus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. While gazing out at an overgrown hill behind a building, the witness did a double-take when he noticed a curious-looking orange-colored animal in some brush. After photographing the creature, he recalled, "I saw it stand up, shake" and then venture into a group of rocks that "looks like a den kind of thing."

When Luis later shared his pictures on social media, various theories were offered as to what the mystery creature could have been. Some observers suggested that the animal was a big cat out on the prowl, however, he noted that not everyone was convinced of that explanation. "People are saying it's a dog," Luis indicated before musing "I just really want to know what it is." To that end, it would seem that he is not alone in wondering about the nature of the beast as his photos prompted wildlife officers to search the spot in the hopes of locating and identifying the creature that has so far managed to evade them.
