UFO/UAP and cryptid encounters have continued to be reported from various locations across Pennsylvania throughout 2025. While many reports have been determined to have logical explanations, there are some cases that are quite detailed and interesting.

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that have been reported. More reports and details will follow in the future.

On the evening of January 13, 2025, in Clearfield County, a witness had just opened the door to let out the family dog when a very bright round object was observed. The object was a solid white sphere that was positioned low over some small nearby trees. The object was estimated to be about twenty feet off the ground. The object rapidly accelerated straight up high into the sky. That witness hurried into the house to bring another person to view it. When they returned it was gone.

On January 20th-near Latrobe at about 8:30 PM, a man was walking to a store and did not have his phone with him. In the northern sky he observed a large orange orb that was solid and glowing. The sphere was moving slowly, then almost stopped, then suddenly it moved extremely fast across the sky toward the west and was lost from sight.

January 26th-On the border of Westmoreland and Indiana County- It was about4:30-4:45 PM, when the owners of the property noticed out of the window that overlooks their field and buildings something tall with a dark cone shaped head. It was standing next to a building that was blocking some of the body. What they could see looked like a tall man, with dark brown or black hair that covered the body. They mentioned another odd detail. There was a foot of snow on the ground. The man took his dog for a walk in that area the next day. There were deer tracks all around the field, but in the location where they saw the creature no other tracks were found. The animals the next morning seemed nervous.

January 28th- Rices Landing, Greene County- This report was received from researcher Kevin Paul. This sighting occurred at about 2:10 PM along the Mon River. The witness was standing outdoors waiting for a delivery. That is when she observed an extremely large white bird flying at rooftop level with a 12-to-15-foot wingspan. It had the head, neck, and features of a raptor with pale yellow legs. It was pure white and feathered. She could clearly make out the individual feathers at the wing tips. It was carrying something long and slender, black in color, about six feet long. The witness is quite familiar with raptors commonly seen here and says it was not a hawk, owl, or bald eagle which are here now. She says it did not have a long neck like a blue heron. It flew very gracefully with minimal wing movement.

 (In more recent years, there has been an increase in sightings of white Thunderbirds.)

January 30th- The witness was traveling on the turnpike near Arona at 5:46 AM. There were scattered clouds at the time and some stars were visible. Suddenly a star-like object appeared that was about four times larger than when he would see Planet Venus. It was not so bright at first, then suddenly it got much brighter. Whiile under observation, the object was changing colors and looked fluid. The object began to diminish in size and was gone.

In early February 2025-Along the Youngstown (PA) side of the Chestnut Ridge, a homeowner reported seeing small white balls of light, low to the ground and close to her home. She reportedly has been three to four feet away from them at times. She has also seen them inside of her house and witnessed by other people.

March 17th, Rural Latrobe area along the Chestnut Ridge-Around Midnight the witness was sitting in the dark looking out the window. The previous afternoon, a severe storm had knocked out power in the area, and she was waiting for a power company truck to arrive. Her attention was drawn about fifty yards away near the corner of the woods when she saw something that she stated to me, “I was shaken by what I saw.”

 She described seeing two objects that looked like “thin dinner plates. They were both upright in a vertical position. They were both bright but did not reflect any light. One was a burnt orange color; the other object was white. The witness said she watched them for about 15-18 minutes. She said the objects stayed about three to four feet above the ground, in that same general area but moved around, “as if they were playing tag.” They just kept moving around. The objects suddenly disappeared and were not seen again.

March 26th, Greensburg-Route 30 east near the Westmoreland Mall area- The witness and a friend during the early evening were behind the mall walking toward a restaurant. The man happened to look up into sky and observed a large solid black triangle hovering. He pointed it out to the friend who also saw it. They looked back at it twice as they were about to enter the building. The man turned around a third time and it was gone. The witness estimated the object was hovering about 950-2,000 feet high. There was no sound, and no lights observed, just a perfect solid triangle.

(There have been other UFO/UAP sightings reported by other witnesses along this same stretch of busy Route 30 during the last few years.)

In more recent weeks, other UFO/UAP sighting and specifically some very strange cryptid encounters have been reported from widespread areas. These have included a pterodactyl sighting by an experienced hunter, a black panther sighting, and a close-range observation of what the shaken witness described in detail as a dogman encounter. I am awaiting more details and will post this information later.
