U.S. Senator Gillibrand's continuing focus on UFO government investigation

Gillibrand and other members of Congress are seeking to learn more about the military's investigation of such sightings and related incidents.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The subject of UFOs — or UAPs, as they're now called — is very much on the mind of U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand as she has been interviewed for a new documentary called "The Age of Disclosure."

That documentary — which will be released Nov. 21 in New York, Los Angeles, and Washington theaters and available for purchase or rent on Amazon Prime worldwide — looks at whether there has been a government coverup of UFOs.

But Gillibrand and other members of Congress, who held hearings on this issue last November, are really seeking to learn more about the military's investigation of such sightings and related incidents.

Gillibrand told NBC News last November "my job as a senator is to get to the bottom and to know facts."

The Democrat from New York spoke with NBC News as Congress heard from former pilots, experts, and people who claimed to be government whistleblowers to learn more about the government's investigation of UFOs — now called UAPs — unidentified anomalous phenomena.

Working with Republicans, Gillibrand helped set up and fund a Pentagon unit called "AARO" for All Doman Anomaly Resolution Office to fully investigate such sightings and testimony regarding the possibility of alien spacecraft or even now underwater vehicles.

The Senator explained last week in a Zoom with Channel 2 that about half the sightings can be explained as weather balloons or other aircraft.

She noted "that means there's 50 percent that are still unidentified and that's a concerning number. I think we have to continue to investigate all sightings so we just know — we just know what are these UAPs, are they drones? Are they adversaries or is it other? But we need to know."

And then on previous claims of a government coverup about UFOs or UAPs, she pointed out: "There was something going on at the DOD at some point. There was some reporting on this where the did have people sign nondisclosure agreements saying they are working on alien programs — they were working on programs of alien materials. And so you have hundreds of people who signed nondisclosure forms, and the nondisclosure forms said things like if you reveal that you're signing this you are at penalty of perjury or death."

2 On Your Side asked, "If the government did come out and say, 'Yes, we have alien technology. We've seen it. We've see these UFOs' — I think you indicated some have actually been shot down too — what the concern that that would cause panic in the public?"

Gillibrand responded, "If it is in fact otherworldly, that's very interesting, and I don't think it creates panic. I think at the end of the day we need to know, are we safe? Like, what's going on in the world? Are out pilots safe? What are they seeing when they're flying? What do they keep running into? Drones? Like, these are really important questions."

Gillibrand says Congress just allowed the U.S. military to shoot down mysterious drones over bases even though a private company says they were responsible

The Senator appears next month in a new Amazon Prime documentary called "The Age of Disclosure" about the government investigation of UFOs-UAPs.
