Triangular semi transparent craft with 8-10 lights on the bottom

My kids and I were laying on our backs in the backyard stargazing and looking for the aurora. We had just witnessed a jellyfish like craft a few minutes before, and we reeling from that.

Then my son yells “there’s another one!!! WHAT IS THAT?!?” He points straight up and we instantly spot it. It was a semi transparent triangular craft with about 8-10 white lights on the bottom. It was moving in a southerly direction at a constant rate of speed. It wasn’t terribly bright- the lights had the same brightness as the Pleiades star cluster. We could see THROUGH the craft. When it went in front of stars- we could see the stars behind it.

Because it was semi transparent it was very difficult to determine color of the craft. It was slightly darker than the night sky. It almost had a glow/shimmering around it.

It was LARGE. It took up about 2 inches of the night sky- significantly larger than any commercial aircraft or satellite. In my opinion, it was at least 50,000ft altitude. I say that because it was so dim and was much less bright than the other aircraft’s blocking navigation lights in the sky at the same time.

It moved silently and constant.

After we witnessed this spectacular sight, my 8 and 11 year old kids both spotted 3 more craft- each sighting very brief- just 2 seconds each. (I missed these sightings- couldn’t spot it soon enough) they said each one had e same characteristics as the triangle- but where trapezoids and rhomboids. (And one more triangle) each one was about rhe size of that initial triangular craft we all witnessed.

Background: We live in a busy flight path along the east coast- and I regularly watch planes and satellites. My kids and I actually play a game of “guess the altitude and speed” of planes we see, and then check flight radar app to see who won. So I have gotten very good at guessing altitude.

We have a video production company, and My husband is part 107 certified drone pilot, and I often operate the camera for the drone. So I am a trained visible observer.

We watched it head south until we lost the field of view behind our house. I have never in my life seen anything like this. My 11 year old daughter immediately started crying saying she was scared.

By NUFORC / National UFO Reporting Center

The National UFO Reporting Center was founded in 1974 by noted UFO investigator Robert J. Gribble. The Center’s primary function over the past four decades has been to receive, record, and to the greatest degree possible, corroborate and document reports from individuals who have been witness to unusual, possibly UFO-related events.  Throughout its history, the Center has processed over 150,000 reports, and has distributed its information to thousands of individuals.

The principal means used by the Center to receive sighting reports is this website, which has operated continuously since 1994.   Prior to that period, the telephone hotline and the U.S. mail were the primary means of taking reports.

The Center’s independence from all other UFO related organizations, combined with its long standing policy of guaranteed anonymity to callers, has served to make it perhaps the most popular and widely accepted national UFO reporting facility anywhere.   The website and hotline are well known by law enforcement agencies, FAA ARTCC’s and flight service stations, National Weather Services offices, military facilities, NASA, and many 911 emergency dispatch centers all across the United States and in many parts of Canada. Those entities routinely direct the calls they receive regarding possible UFO sightings to the Center.

One of the Center’s policies, which distinguishes its operations from most other UFO organizations, is that it makes available to the public all of its data in summary form. Detailed information is made available to experienced UFO investigators.

The National UFO Reporting Center is a non-profit Washington State corporation, and it is applying for federal 501 C (3) non-profit status.
