Thirteen drivers reportedly chased by 7-8 foot creature in Wall Township, New Jersey

A researcher contacted me regarding a disturbing series of alleged nighttime encounters on a wooded road in Wall Township, New Jersey. According to the information he received, thirteen motorists may have encountered the same enormous animal-like figure, reportedly capable of chasing vehicles at extraordinary speed.

Years later, the researcher contacted me again and revealed that he and a small group had entered the surrounding woods to investigate. What they found during that search has not yet been publicly disclosed.

WITNESS REPORT

The Initial Contact

“Mr. Strickler. Greetings. I have some information about a possible cryptid in Wall Township, New Jersey.

“I am currently in the process of verifying thirteen witness accounts involving people who claimed they were chased in their cars at night by a seven to eight-foot something. The incidents reportedly occurred on a particular road on various occasions.

“I have more information, but I would prefer to discuss it by phone if possible.”

Contacting the Police

“I would also like your advice about how to encourage a detective to be forthcoming with information. I assume the detective would not be receptive if I simply said, ‘I heard a monster chased thirteen people, and I was wondering whether you could confirm it.’

“If I can confirm the stories, and possibly even if I cannot, a group of eight people is planning to explore the area at the end of the month. We want to see whether we can find any physical traces of the creature.

“I am not sure whether you would be interested in participating, but everyone agreed that your expertise would be appreciated.”

The Witness Who Reported the Creature

Approximately eight years later, BB contacted me again and recalled the details of our original telephone conversation.

“I explained that I personally knew one of the alleged thirteen eyewitnesses. He claimed that he had been chased along a wooded road in Wall Township by an animal as tall as a car. He believed it could run at approximately 60 miles per hour.

“At the time, police were seeking information concerning the death of a woman at a nearby dog park. That death was later determined to be unrelated to the reports of the creature.

“The police inquiry caused my friend to telephone the detective and report what had happened to him. The detective told him that they were fairly certain his sighting was unrelated to the woman’s death, but thanked him for providing the information.

Twelve Similar Reports

“My friend apologized to the detective and said that he was sorry if he sounded crazy.

“The detective reportedly told him that he did not sound crazy because twelve other people had reported the same thing that night.”

The Explanation Changes

“My friend called the detective again later and asked what had become of the large and potentially dangerous animal.

“This time, the detective told him that the entire incident was simply ‘some kids partying in the woods.’ He then asked my friend not to share the information with anyone.”

Our Previous Discussion

“You told me that the description sounded like it could have been a Bigfoot or another large cryptid. You also believed that the police might have been attempting to suppress or minimize the situation.

“You suggested that speaking directly to the police would probably not produce any useful information. You said it might simply alert them that someone was independently investigating the reports, so I decided not to contact them.

“You also gave me several practical safety recommendations for entering the area and searching for evidence.”

The Investigation

“We never reconnected after our group entered the woods.

“I would be happy to tell you what we found, although that discussion might be better conducted on the air.”

COMMENTARY

This case is intriguing because it involves an alleged cluster of reports rather than a single isolated observation. According to BB’s source, thirteen people reported encountering the same general type of creature. However, the twelve additional reports and the detective’s statements remain secondhand and have not been independently verified.

The most important element is the creature’s reported behavior. The figure was not merely observed standing beside the road or crossing in front of a vehicle. It allegedly pursued motorists and appeared capable of keeping pace with moving cars.

Descriptions of large bipedal creatures pacing, following, or pursuing vehicles occasionally appear in reports of Bigfoot, Dogman, and upright canines. Darkness, headlights, roadside vegetation, stress, and the movement of the witness’s vehicle can make accurate estimates of height, distance, and speed extremely difficult. The claim that the animal reached approximately 60 miles per hour should therefore be treated as a frightened witness’s estimate rather than a measured speed.

A large bear, deer, person, or group of people could potentially be misidentified under poor nighttime conditions. However, the witness reportedly described something as tall as a car, and the detective allegedly acknowledged twelve comparable reports before later attributing the incident to young people partying in the woods. Those two explanations do not easily reconcile.

The detective’s alleged request that the witness remain silent is unusual, but it does not, on its own, prove that the police concealed a cryptid encounter. Officers may discourage public speculation during an active investigation, particularly when an unrelated death is being examined nearby. Without police records or direct testimony from the detective, the context and intent of the statement remain uncertain.

Wall Township contains wooded tracts, rural roads, parks, waterways, and wildlife habitat despite its location near the heavily developed Jersey Shore region. These environmental conditions could conceal a large animal, contribute to misidentification, or provide the isolation associated with unusual nighttime encounters.

The case remains incomplete. The exact road, date, identities of the additional witnesses, police incident numbers, and evidence reportedly discovered during the later field investigation have not been publicly released.

FAQ

Were all thirteen witnesses interviewed directly?

No. BB personally knew one alleged witness. The other twelve reports were attributed to a detective’s statement and have not been independently confirmed.

Did the creature attack anyone?

No physical attack was reported. The primary witness claimed that the creature chased his moving vehicle.

Was the creature identified as a Bigfoot?

No. Bigfoot was discussed as one possibility, but the available description is too limited to make a reliable identification.

Could the witnesses have seen a black bear?

A bear or another large animal remains a possible explanation. Darkness, vehicle movement, headlights, and fear can distort a witness’s perception of size, posture, distance, and speed.

Did police confirm the creature reports?

There is no publicly available confirmation. According to the account, a detective initially acknowledged twelve similar reports but later attributed the situation to young people partying in the woods.

What did the investigative group find?

BB indicated that the group discovered something worth discussing, but those details have not yet been publicly disclosed.
