The Minhocão - Giant earthworm of the jungles in South and Central America

The Minhocão is a giant earthworm or giant serpent type cryptid that resides in the jungles of South and Central America. This drawing of the creature was done by Lance Bradshaw.

It is allegedly 20 to 50 meters long and covered in thick black scales. It has large, sharp teeth and is said to be a burrowing animal, keeping itself mostly under ground. Some legends describe a pig-like snout and others claim it has horns. The Minhocão tends to stay around the wettest and warmest areas of jungle and is very feared through local tribes. There are cave drawings of this beast, reporting it as a vicious man-eater. There have been sightings of this creature as recent as 2013.

The Minhocão is said to cause noise like rumbling thunder as it moves. Some believe that its movemet can cause damage to local farmland and roads. It leaves deep trenches in its wake, showing exactly where it had once been.
