Location: Himeji City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Mihara-shi, Japan

Buddhist Shingon Kongo Archbishop Kitano Megumitakara (80 years of age at the time) was staying at the Zen sect head temple of Hiroshima Mihara. Sometime after midnight, the master, who was asleep, woke up after hearing a strange voice. The voice told him, “Open the curtain” and it sounded right at the ear of the master who noticed an intense light coming through the curtain. Looking out the window, he saw a strange light in the eastern sky. The light approached Kitano without emitting a sound. It then flew around the sky above Mt. Ayane located near where Kitano was staying and landed on a large rock opposite his window. The light dimmed to reveal a disc-shaped craft with a large dome on top. The upper section of the dome opened up and Kitano sees what appeared to be ‘people’ coming out. They looked like humans in dark brown gowns. The object and the figures were about 100 meters away, (the next morning it was said that it had been actually 400-meters away) it was the night of the full moon so he could see everything clearly.

One of the aliens approached within 100 meters and spoke to Kitano from that distance. To him it sounded as if he was speaking to someone on the phone. The human-appearing alien ordered the Buddhist teacher/master to write. He was giving a strange word with he could not understand, but eventually wrote a 19-page manuscript. After imparting the information, the alien returned to the disc and re-entered it, the disc then ascended and disappeared into the sky. It was already 230am.

Master Kitano added that he had not felt any fear but felt as though ‘electricity’ had passed through his body, but as the alien spoke this feeling vanished. According to Kitano the alien spoke in clear Japanese, in a gentle voice that was neither masculine nor feminine. He felt that it was not a “real” voice.

The manuscript dealt mainly with the future of the Earth, atomic power, and Earth’s finite resources. When Kitano asked the alien if they were from Mars or Jupiter, he did not receive an answer, and when he asked, “Are you Buddha or God” he was told, “We are not Buddha or God”. The alien also told Kitano that there were humans living in all the planets of our Solar System and that there were more planets in our Solar System than we knew. The alien also made several predictions, including the assassination of Bangladeshi president Rahman who was killed in a coup d’etat the next month. He also predicted future catastrophic Earthquakes for Japan.

The alien bade goodbye and told Kitano that they would meet again. Apparently, Kitano would have future contacts.
