Second official Loch Ness monster sighting of 2025 recorded
A man who visited Loch Ness for this year's 'monster hunt' has been credited with the second official sighting of the famed cryptid for 2025. The observation reportedly occurred on May 23rd as the witness participated in the annual weekend-long search, dubbed The Quest. According to his account, submitted to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, he was stationed "at the high vantage point overlooking Urqhart Bay" when a "small motor boat" appeared on the water. Observing the craft with his binoculars, the witness was taken aback when he noticed "something long and thin pop up" in the vessel's wake.
Although the man indicated that he managed to capture the curiosity with his cell phone, only a largely indecipherable still image from the footage (seen here) has so far been made available. Be that as it may, his account and video were compelling enough for the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register to recognize the report as the second of 2025 to pass their rigorous standards. The man's sighting serves as something of a vindication for the annual Nessie search as it had previously been believed that this year's effort had come up short as far as producing any new evidence for the famed cryptid.
