Navy chief claims men encountered 'football field' sized UFO travelling 200mph underwater

An investigation into UFO sightings has uncovered a claim from a navy officer that his crew saw an underwater spaceship that was travelling at the ridiculous speed of 200mph

A top ranked navy officer has claimed his men had a close encounter with a ‘football field’ sized UFO travelling underwater at 200mph that was ‘no fish’.

Tim Burchett, who is part of the US Congress probe into UFO sightings by military personnel, said no human-made vehicle could move that fast in the water.

Officials are examining sightings of USOs - Unidentified Submerged Objects - as well as mystery flying craft.

Burchett said the encounters were reported in very ‘deep water areas’ beneath Earth's oceans.

The Congressman said: “A very high-ranking member of the Navy described some underwater experiences with something that was doing 200mph underwater.

“It was as big as a football field.

“That’s no fish.”

Asked on US TV if it could have been manmade he replied: “Not with our technology no.

“The best we have is probably in the high 30s.”

He said the mystery objects could not be secret military tech because top brass would not put their own aircraft and submarines at risk by getting so close to them.

Burchett said: “Why would we risk multi-million-dollar apparatus?

“Why would we put something in the air around our best pilots that could have a crash?

“Because what these guys are talking about - they’ve come close to collisions.

“Why would they do that? They would not do that. It would be stupid. I just don’t think we’d be risking that. That’s my proof that it’s not ours.”

It is not the first time mystery craft have been reported beneath the waves.

Last year Bob McGwire, a professor with the Institute for Defense Analyses, told officials of his deep sea one-to-one with an alien craft while on board a US Navy fast attack submarine.

He was carrying out classified work on the USS Hampton when he heard the sound of `something whizzing by'.

The sub's onboard sonar determined the object was travelling through the water faster than the speed of sound.

Bob, who works for the scientific institute and Virginia Tech research university in the US, said no man-made craft could have travelled that fast.

Sound travels four times faster in water than air - reaching 3,330mph - because liquid particles are closer together and quickly transmit vibration energy from one to another.

But a torpedo can only hit 230mph.

While the fastest sea animal is the sailfish which can swim at 68mph.

Bob, who has also served as a high-security-clearance intelligence officer, kept the details of his close encounter secret for 30 years due to the classified nature of his work on the sub which is assigned to Squadron 11 in San Diego, California.

But he decided to finally speak out as the Pentagon began probing at least 800 alleged close encounters.

He told the UAP Society - which catalogues encounters - he urged the naval team on board the sub to report the incident at the time but they determined it would hinder their mission.

Though the sub's work was secret he had not been told the encounter itself was classified.

"It is mine to tell whoever I want. They blew it,'' he said.

The engagement lasted just a few seconds, he said.

"We were underway and all of a sudden I heard a sound.

"It is really strange and clear that something is whizzing by us,'' he said.

The USS Hampton is limited by how fast it can travel due to the incompressibility of water in front of it but the USO `blew by' the sub, he said.

He said a `person with knowledge of onboard systems' - likely monitoring the sonar tech - announced something just soared past the submarine faster than the speed of sound.
