Mystery beast of La Bête du Vosges, a kill count over 300 animals
These images were captured in the early years of La Bête du Vosges’ attacks. This particular beast slaughtered livestock from 1975 to 1988 in Vosges, France. It was thought to have been several different animals committing the acts but this one particular was caught on camera. Those that studied the creature in the photo believe it to be a wolf-hound mix that weighs around 60 lbs. There were at least 26 organized hunts to try and stop the creature, but none resulted in ending the terror.
Cattle and other domestic animals were slaughtered by this mysterious beast, however no human beings were harmed. It is estimated that at least 200 sheep were killed during this time span. The beast’s kill count for all domestic animals combined was thought to be over 300. It is believed by some that the animal was a wolf that someone had raised and released to hunt livestock.
