Haunted Vegas casino seeks ghost hunter
A contest from a purportedly haunted Las Vegas casino will see the winner paid $5,000 to conduct a ghost hunt in the decades-old building. The clever concept reportedly comes courtesy of the El Cortez Hotel and Casino, the longest-running such site in the city, which opened in 1941. Considered one of the most haunted locations in Las Vegas, the casino was once owned in part by infamous mobster Bugsy Siegel and boasts a long history of paranormal activity reported by staff and visitors. Drawing on the site's spooky reputation, the casino is seeking someone to search for spirits, and their chosen ghost hunter will be awarded $5,000 for their effort.
The contest, which can be entered here, will see the winner provided with a weekend-long stay at the El Cortez, where they will be given full access to the various haunted spots within the building. The lucky spirit seeker will be tasked with conducting their own paranormal investigation of the location using ghost hunting equipment and cameras. Following their visit, the contest winner will also be required to write up a report detailing their "scariest, funniest, or even mysterious moments" from the experience. Would-be ghost hunters and paranormal investigators have until Halloween to enter the contest, with the winner being announced shortly thereafter.
