Overview

A witness traveling through rural Fayette County, Pennsylvania, reported seeing a large, winged creature resembling a prehistoric flying reptile. The sighting occurred in daylight and was described as both shocking and unmistakable.

Creature Description

The witness described a large flying creature with the following features:

Bat‑like wings, estimated 15–20 feet across

Long tail with a diamond‑shaped tip

Dark brown or grey skin, leathery texture

Elongated head and beak, similar to a pterosaur

Slow, steady flight pattern, gliding over a ridge before disappearing behind trees

The witness stated that the creature’s size and shape were unlike any bird native to the area.

Additional Notes

No other witnesses were found, but the description matches several historical reports of “Thunderbird” or “Pterosaur‑type” creatures in the Appalachian region. The sighting occurred near a wooded ridge with open farmland below, providing clear visibility.
