Dragon-like creature reported over Tuckahoe, New Jersey

In July 2016, a retired resident witnessed a massive dragon-like creature soaring over Marshallville Road near the river in Tuckahoe, New Jersey. The reptilian being, estimated at 50–60 feet long with wings spanning 30 feet, left behind foul downdrafts and a sensation of time distortion—an encounter that still defies explanation.

"Hello. In early July 2016, while driving on Marshallville Rd. by the river near Tuckahoe, New Jersey, I experienced something unusual. It was dusk, and the sky was still light enough for me to see clearly. I caught a glimpse of a massive flying creature crossing the roadway at approximately 100 feet in the air. It looked like a dragon, silhouetted against the lighter sky, flying south toward the state forest.

I watched it for almost 10 seconds. It had broad wings and a long tail, with a head resembling an unknown reptile. The creature was dark in color, flapping its giant wings, which I estimated to be at least 30 feet in width. There was another car behind me, and I could tell the occupants saw it too, judging by their expressions. I pulled over, and as the two people in the other car passed, they pointed to the sky. I tried to get them to stop, but they were moving too fast. I lowered my window and yelled, but they continued on.

When I leaned out of the window, I immediately detected a foul stench, similar to rotting fish, and felt warm downdrafts. It was very strange. I've included an image I found that closely resembles what I saw.

I'm not naïve, and I know this could not have been an actual animal. It felt as if I had entered a time warp when the creature appeared. For the rest of the evening, I experienced a physical reaction similar to jet lag.

I haven't told anyone else about this—I live alone and I'm retired. I've spent most of my life in this area, and I've never experienced anything like it before. There has been no mention of this in the local news so that I may have witnessed something extraordinary.

What are your thoughts?" M

NOTE: I spoke with Malcolm, and we had an interesting conversation. He asked me to redact some personal information from his original email, as he had permitted me to publish it. I gathered a few additional details: the sighting occurred on Sunday, July 3rd, around 8:15 PM. His description was vivid and convincing. He estimated the creature's body, from tip to tail, was 50 to 60 feet long, and he noted two long appendages on each side of the head. The foul stench he experienced was reminiscent of rotting fish.

We discussed his theory of a possible time slip. I asked if he had noticed any other changes in the surrounding area during the sighting, but he did not detect any other anomalies. I will conduct a follow-up investigation into this account. If anyone else has had a similar sighting in the general area, I would be very interested in hearing about it. Lon
