Large silent craft - appeared to be a disk seen from side, with six circular white lights, steady-on, and one dark red blinking light

I went outside to walk the dogs. Rural area, dark at night with no streetlights. Quiet night, cold (mid 30's), no wind or precipitation, and no one outside up and down the whole road. Scanned the sky and immediately saw this craft, far down the road, about 5 houses down, on my side. It had seven perfectly circular lights in a row, with one white light at the end and then a bright blinking red light, then 5 more steady-on white lights. It looked unusual and I watched it intently. However, with the blinking red light I thought perhaps it was a small plane, and there was an optical illusion somehow making it look like a disk, being seen from one side. This idea didn't really make sense as the small planes flown for crop-dusting locally don't fly at night. It was clearly not a helicopter or a large jet, it was far too close to the ground. In a few moments it had flown forward down the road, just above the trees, and then shifted direction toward the East right before it got to my yard. It was absolutely silent. As I watched it, I noticed it had a beautiful golden glow around the whole thing. It traveled across the street and flew behind the neighbors' house. I braced myself to hear a crash, because it was way too close to the ground, but there was no sound. I stared into the darkness on the far side of their house, to see it come out, thinking maybe it banked sharply and would be visible again as it gained altitude. Suddenly there was a bright blue-white flash, apparently coming from the neighbors' backyard (out of my line of vision) which illuminated the outline of the house on the left and a tree nearby for a brief second. Then, nothing. No sign of the craft, no unusual noises, no neighbors coming out, nothing. I stayed outside for some time watching in case it came back, but it didn't. I tried to grab my phone to take a video of it, but by the time I thought of it (as I was somewhat mesmerized by this sight!), the craft was behind the building. I still hit video record, but then turned it off again as there was nothing to see. But I saved the clip anyway as it reminds me of the time and day I saw this.

By NUFORC / National UFO Reporting Center

The National UFO Reporting Center was founded in 1974 by noted UFO investigator Robert J. Gribble. The Center’s primary function over the past four decades has been to receive, record, and to the greatest degree possible, corroborate and document reports from individuals who have been witness to unusual, possibly UFO-related events.  Throughout its history, the Center has processed over 150,000 reports, and has distributed its information to thousands of individuals.

The principal means used by the Center to receive sighting reports is this website, which has operated continuously since 1994.   Prior to that period, the telephone hotline and the U.S. mail were the primary means of taking reports.

The Center’s independence from all other UFO related organizations, combined with its long standing policy of guaranteed anonymity to callers, has served to make it perhaps the most popular and widely accepted national UFO reporting facility anywhere.   The website and hotline are well known by law enforcement agencies, FAA ARTCC’s and flight service stations, National Weather Services offices, military facilities, NASA, and many 911 emergency dispatch centers all across the United States and in many parts of Canada. Those entities routinely direct the calls they receive regarding possible UFO sightings to the Center.

One of the Center’s policies, which distinguishes its operations from most other UFO organizations, is that it makes available to the public all of its data in summary form. Detailed information is made available to experienced UFO investigators.

The National UFO Reporting Center is a non-profit Washington State corporation, and it is applying for federal 501 C (3) non-profit status.
