Dead big cat spirited away by British police?
In an eyebrow-raising story out of England, a woman believes that she drove past a dead big cat that was later surreptitiously removed by police. According to a local media report, the curious case occurred on the evening of August 5th when Jodie Jenkins and her partner were cruising along a highway and noticed a downed animal on the central median. As their car approached the creature, she observed that it had "two thick hind legs" and an inordinately long tail that "curled back on itself." Based on the size of the tan-colored animal, Jenkins posited that "there was no way it was a deer."
Remarkably, when she asked her partner about the peculiar sight and suggested that it was a big cat, he answered that "he was going to say the same but didn't want to look stupid." Certain that they had spotted one of the apocryphal felines many believe roam the British countryside, Jenkins detailed her sighting in a Facebook group devoted to the phenomenon, which is where the story took a weird turn. According to her, an individual responding to the post indicated that they were also traveling along that stretch of highway at the time and saw "the animal that they too believed was a big cat." The unnamed witness recalled how they turned around at the nearest rest station to go back and get a better look at the downed creature, but came upon something far stranger instead.
When they arrived at the location, the other motorist said, they spied "two police officers carrying the large animal in a white sheet." When a local media outlet contacted area officials about the intriguing account, they asserted that they had received no reports of a downed big cat. The dismissive response has added fuel to the longstanding theory that the presence of such creatures in England is being actively covered up by authorities. "If big cats are living wild in the UK that should be something to celebrate, to be proud of, but that doesn't seem to be the case," lamented Jenkins, who speculated that the reason these animals are kept hidden or secret is to protect the animals' safety from humans."
