Psychic locates missing woman

A psychic in New York state is being hailed as a hero after she used her gift to locate an elderly woman who had gone missing.

The family of Marlene Martin were beside themselves when the 84-year-old woman, who suffers from dementia, wandered off from a bingo game in the town of Lockport last month. Fortunately, the news quickly spread on Facebook and caught the attention of local psychic Juanita Szafranski, who offered her assistance in finding the lost woman.

Upon arriving at the scene of the search, the psychic was given a picture of Martin and then began to work her magic. "They show me a photo, and I channel, and I know what I'm looking for," Szafranski explained to an area newspaper. As the clairvoyant followed her instincts, police also attempted to locate the missing woman by way of bloodhounds and specially-equipped drone, both of which failed to find Martin.

The search went on throughout the night with neither the psychic nor authorities having any luck in locating the lost woman, but Szafranski finally had a breakthrough shortly after dawn. According to her, she suddenly "sensed Martin was resting in a wooded area" near a specific road in town. Remarkably, the insight proved to be correct when the psychic went to the area and quickly found the woman, who was largely no worse for wear aside from a couple of minor injuries.

Although skeptics will likely insist that Szafranski's success was simply a matter of luck, Martin's family credit her clairvoyance with being the key in finding the lost woman. "If it wasn't for her, I probably would never have found my mom," Martin's daughter marveled. For her part, Szafranski seemed almost nonplussed by what others might see as an extraordinary event, musing "This is what I do. This is 24/7 for me."

By George Noory / Coast to Coast AM Host

George Noory, host of the nationally syndicated program, Coast to Coast AM, says if he weren’t a national radio talk show host he’d be in politics. Heard by millions of listeners, Coast To Coast AM airs on approximately 564 stations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Guam.

While hosting The Nighthawk, a wildly successful, late-night program on KTRS in St. Louis, Noory was recruited by Premiere Radio Networks to guest host on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell.  He became the permanent host of the phenomenally successful over-night program on January 1, 2003, following Bell’s retirement.  Since then, Noory’s audience has continued to grow.

Noory captivates program listeners with his discussions of paranormal phenomena, time travel, alien abductions, conspiracies and all things curious and unexplained. He is driven, he has said, by the desire to solve the great mysteries of our time. From his first days as a radio broadcaster he says, “I’ve wanted to cover stories that the mainstream media never touch—the unusual, the paranormal and things like that. I learned that broadcast was the best business for exploring these issues, and I’ve been doing it for 33 years.”
