Police save suspected witches from angry mob in Kenya

Chaos descended upon a Kenyan village when a group of suspected witches was discovered seemingly practicing the proverbial dark arts outside a politician's home. According to a local media report, the strange incident occurred earlier this week in the community of Kyasila when residents stumbled upon two men and two women in possession of various accoutrements believed to be used for sorcery. Their presence outside an unnamed politician's residence was particularly troubling to community members, who presumed that the group was up to something supernaturally nefarious.

As word of the witches spread throughout the village, a mob quickly formed and attacked the mystical foursome while demanding answers about their unusual activities. When the suspected witches refused to answer the angry crowd, one resident went so far as to threaten to beat them with a tire iron. The group managed to escape that frightening fate when police arrived on the scene and rescued the mystics by taking them into custody for questioning away from the angry crowd, which would likely have continued its assault until the incident had a tragic ending.
