IRGC warns UK over role in US-Israeli war, says bases legitimate targets

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned the UK against further involvement in recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran, saying London should not "further burden its record" and reiterating that "any base used for aggression against Iranian territory is a legitimate target."
In its 46th statement on Thursday, the IRGC said Britain has "the greatest participation in the recent aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran".
"We warn the British monarchy, which has been the principal cause of the misfortunes of the peoples of our region... not to further burden its record," it.

US naval forces operating in the Indian Ocean have exhausted their stockpile of cruise missiles and have therefore begun using B-1 bombers flying from RAF Fairford in England, the IRGC said.
"The invading US military, which after the official resumption of the war relied on launching cruise missiles from its vessels in the Indian Ocean, yesterday resorted to using B-1 aircraft flying from Britain's Fairford air base after those ships' missile stocks were depleted," the statement said.
It reiterated a position previously expressed by Iranian officials, saying: "As Foreign Ministry officials have also emphasized, any base used for aggression against Iranian territory is a legitimate target for us."
It described Britain as "the principal cause of the misfortunes of the peoples of our region" and cited the country's "dark record of partitioning Islamic countries, carrying out widespread massacres in those countries, imposing authoritarian governments and, worst of all, organizing and directing the occupation of Palestine and the creation of the catastrophe of Israel."
The statement came amid heightened tensions following the United States' abandonment of a previous understanding with Iran, which led to renewed war and further escalation between the two sides.
It also came amid growing tensions between Tehran and London, after Britain moved to designate the IRGC as a national security threat under new legislation, a step Iran condemned as "hostile" and vowed to answer with reciprocal measures.
The IRGC also outlined its retaliatory operations, describing the actions as the 26th wave of its "Nasr 2" operation, launched in response to an attack by terrorist US forces on pilgrims traveling through the Shalamcheh border area to Iraq.

According to the statement, IRGC forces launched "combined attacks" that targeted a US special electronic warfare unit at Camp Al-Udairi in Kuwait.
The IRGC said the strikes destroyed the unit, hit its barracks, killing or wounding a number of personnel, and damaged the base's air traffic control tower.
The statement said the operation was dedicated to pilgrims traveling for the Arbaeen commemoration.
It was conducted "in continuation of punishing the aggressor and responding to the crimes of the child-killing US army," after its forces attacked a route used by pilgrims to the shrine of Imam Hussein earlier on Thursday, the IRGC added.
The statement also rejected the possibility of a ceasefire, stressing that Washington is seeking negotiations only to buy time for renewed military operations.
"The defeated America on the battlefield is once again trying, through deception and trickery, to create another opportunity to catch its breath and rebuild its strength for another attack," it said.
"The enemy must pay the price for breaking its commitments, and this time we will not allow America, through deceptive ceasefires, to replenish its oil and ammunition reserves before resuming its attacks."
The statement declared that "our punitive operations continue" and ended with the Qur’anic phrase: "Indeed, We will take vengeance upon the criminals."
