Stunning Olmec discovery La Venta, Tabasco, 1400 BC | Megalithomania
Hugh Newman visits La Venta on-site museum in Tabasco, Mexico to see an Olmec discovery that has just been put on display, as well as question the giant sandstone sculptures that could have once been colossal Olmec heads. He also examines and explains some megalithic stela and their inscriptions and using excavation footage from the 1950s, locates where many of these artefacts were originally found. In episode 2 Hugh will explore the site in detail that dates back to 1400 BC.
