Secrets of the Egyptian stargates

What's a Stargate and How Do We Find Them?

What exactly is a stargate? Are they, or were they, real? The short answer is, “Yes.” But it’s never quite that simple, is it? Our modern science fiction has cast the image of a stargate and a giant circular device which must be powered up and the correct sequence of glyphs entered in order for a watery substance to become activated and whisk people off to somewhere else in the cosmos. It’s fun, and the original 1994 Stargate film, as well as the Mystery of the Sphinx documentary released the previous year featuring the work of John Anthony West and Robert Schoch redating the Great Sphinx, had been a huge influence which spurred my curiosity about the mysteries of ancient Egypt – oh, and I grew up on Indiana Jones and old episodes of Jonny Quest. Where would that curiosity lead me?

Plainly, a stargate is a doorway designed by an intelligent being that gives one access to other locations in the cosmos or on Earth, other dimensions, other levels of consciousness, or other points in time. These differ from portals in that portals are naturally occurring – although an intelligent being may have harnessed the power of a portal and bent it to its will in order to create a stargate with it. Why am I saying “intelligent being” and not “human”? Simple. A stargate doesn’t have to be of human design; it could have been designed by other beings within the universe or even on our own planet, although, yes, a human could have designed a stargate as well.

From here, I usually dive into a discussion about real portals, X-points which reside just at the edge of the Earth’s magnetosphere, and the nature of the Einstein-Rosen Bridge and how plasmoids, orbs, and giant balls of light may actually be spherical hole plasmoid entrances to wormholes. But in this article, I don’t want to get bogged down in the scientific minutiae of all of that. (Instead, you can watch my Connecting the Universe presentation on that topic below.) So, let’s jump right into my favorite aspect of stargates – and that’s where we find them in Egypt.

For the past several years I’ve been co-hosting the Stargates of Ancient Egypt tour with Mohamed Ibrahim, and within that tour we show you where the stargates are at, discuss what exactly they were, teach you what the hieroglyphs actually mean, and explore the connections the stargates had throughout myriad aspects of our world and universe. The amazing part about all of this is that almost everything is right in plain sight. Sure, there are some areas we get into during the tour that are off-limits to the general public, but most aspects of Egypt’s stargates stare thousands of tourists in the face every single day and people just walk right on by. What are they not seeing?

The ancient Egyptians actually labeled gateways and chambers which were stargates as stargate in their hieroglyphs. These glyphs can vary to some degree depending on if some shorthand was being used or to designate other functionality, but the symbols we kept looking for are in the order of a folded sheet, a star, a foot, and a gate. Most of the hieroglyphic language is phonetic, and it was, in part, that understanding by Jean-François Champollion in 1822, in conjunction with realizing the modern Coptic language is a descendant of ancient Egyptian, that he was able to unlock the Rosetta Stone and start deciphering hieroglyphs. In the four symbols I described above, our phonetic word is simply ‘sb.’ Ancient Egyptians didn’t use vowels (the Greeks tossed a couple in there when they came along – they needed an ‘o’ to spell Ptolemy, and they also added a lion glyph for the letter ‘l’), so we have to supply some to our best understanding of how the word would have been pronounced, in this case, inserting two a’s to spell saba.

The hieroglyphic language wasn’t completely phonetic, however, and we do find the use of ideograms as well. In this case, the star and the gate symbols are what we call determinatives, symbols that help us to determine what the word being presented actually means. Here, very plainly, we’re told this word is “stargate.” This series of symbols is also what Mohamed and his wife, Noha, have named their company: Saba Tours.

Where we usually find this set of glyphs is on both sides of a doorway or a gateway, whether that’s into a temple or into a room within a temple, along with the name of a king. In this fashion, the word “stargate” is being used as a type of title, as Mohamed tells us, “He is telling us he is the keeper of the stargate. He is the one who knows the knowledge of the stargate, how to activate it.”

There are only six kings that we know of (so far) who bore this title: Khaba of the Old Kingdom, Senusret III of the Middle Kingdom and Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Seti I, and Ramses II of the New Kingdom. In today’s day and age, we call Hatshepsut a queen, but she ruled as and used the title of King during her reign. The “Pharoah” moniker which we could also use (I tend to not) is a Greek word the ancient Egyptians never called themselves. This doesn’t mean these were the only kings ever to have used this title, but that is all the evidence we have found to this point. In fact, since the publication of my book Portals to the Stars which discussed five stargate kings, Mohamed made the discovery of a sixth in King Khaba.

The stargate hieroglyphs aren’t exclusively only found next to doorways, although that’s certainly the most common location. There are exceptions to the rules, and one of those is within the text of the walls of the Temple of Horus at Edfu. There, we find “stargate,” “great stargate,” and “a hundred stargates” written in several locations. The three lines in conjunction with the glyphs signify multiples. That we find it within the text and not next to any entrances tells us that the temple at Edfu, itself, did not house a stargate, but the priests shared the stories of their usage. It’s a separate topic I cover in Portals to the Stars and I’ve discussed here on the blog that the “Primeval Ones,” those from the Atlantis story on the walls at Edfu, used stargates.

On a recent interview I had with Trevor Grassi and Mohamed, we broke down how to read the hieroglyphs which I’ve posted as a reel or short on a variety of platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook). You can watch the full interview discussing all things stargates here:

So, what did they use these stargates for? Stargates can be used for a variety of purposes, and I do break down those uses in the Secrets of the Stargates video above. Essentially, they can be used for the following (and potentially more):

Intergalactic Travel: This is the first use that immediately comes to mind because of our popular culture. You can into one like in the 1994 Stargate film or fly into one with your spacecraft like in 2014’s Interstellar and you’ll be whisked away to somewhere else in the universe. The 1997 film Contact, starring Jodie Foster, also used similar concepts with an extraterrestrial race sending schematics to Earth so humans could build the device to zip Foster’s character through a network of cosmic tunnels to other worlds. Some in the ufology community believe that highly intelligent extraterrestrials who have mastered the construction of an Einstein-Rosen bridge are already using some kind of network to enter our world whenever they please.

Interplanetary Travel: Rather than across the cosmos, stargates could be used to traverse vast distances across the planet. Is this why we see so many similarities between ancient cultures which were not supposed to have had any contact between each other? We see some uncanny similarities in construction of pyramids and ancient symbolism like the spiral, pinecone, and “handbag.” Check out the Egyptian – Mayan connection at Elephantine Island reel on a variety of platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).

Interdimensional Travel: Interdimensional beings or ultraterrestrials are likely living around us (usually) invisible to the limitations of the human eye because they live in another dimension (we live in the fourth dimension of time, and there are six more dimensions about that according to our current theoretical physics). A stargate for these beings would simply be a passageway from their dimension to ours; it doesn’t have to traverse the cosmos at all. It just needs to adjust the frequency of their craft or bodily person to be able to resonate correctly within our dimensional space.

Time Travel: I don’t have the bandwidth to get into Stacked Time Theory here, but if stargates can be used to travel to different dimensions and one of these dimensions is time, then yes, stargates could be used to travel between different points in time.

Communication: These connections through stargates don’t always require someone or some craft entering it and venturing off to another location or dimension. The connection can simply establish a means of communication without travel. In fact, our recent modern foray into creating wormholes in the lab in 2022 included simply sending a message through the wormhole.

I believe the ancient Egyptians were doing all of these things through their stargates. We see ample evidence in their records and their artwork that they had a keen understanding of all these aspects of our universe and may have even had a clearer understanding the further you go back in history. These are the mysteries we unravel during the Stargates of Ancient Egypt Tour, and I bring much of this to light in Portals to the Stars: Inside Stargates, Atlantis, and Secrets of Ancient Egypt. With as much as we cover, however, there are always new discoveries we are making or expanding upon our knowledge. I’ll leave you with this lasting image for now … the discovery of more stargates at the Temple of Hathor at Dendera: (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
